Karnataka has digitised over 4.28 crore Enumeration Forms (EFs), accounting for 77.33 per cent of the state's 5.54 crore electors, as the SIR of electoral rolls gathered pace, Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar said on Wednesday.

The CEO's daily update said 4,28,64,662 enumeration forms had been digitised as on July 29, while 6.65 lakh electors (1.20 per cent) had submitted their forms online.

The house-to-house enumeration and digitisation exercise is scheduled to continue till August 8.

According to the update, 86.64 lakh electors (15.63 per cent) were marked as absent, shifted, dead/deleted or duplicate and others (ASDDO), 11.92 lakh (2.15 per cent) were found untraceable or absent, 53.39 lakh (9.63 per cent) had permanently shifted, 15.14 lakh (2.73 per cent) were identified as deceased, and 5.74 lakh (1.04 per cent) were found to be already enrolled elsewhere.

District-wise, Udupi recorded the highest EF digitisation at 92.90 per cent, followed by Haveri at 90.67 per cent and Uttara Kannada (90.39 per cent), while Bengaluru Urban stood at 49.28 per cent, BBMP North at 47.03 per cent, BBMP Central at 45.42 per cent and BBMP South at 43.39 per cent.
