Mysuru Deputy Commissioner G Lakshmikanth Reddy on Friday said that food safety officers will conduct a one-month special drive to check the quality of food served by roadside vendors in the city.

Chairing the meeting with Food Safety and Standard Authority of India FSSAI officials held at his office, he said that food safety officers have been instructed to file a case if they fail to serve quality food violating FSSAI norms.

He also gave directions to officials of Mysuru City Corporation, city municipal bodies on the city's outskirts, to take part in the special drive along with FSSAI officials.

The DC asked officials to regularly send reports of inspection drives and action taken reports on food safety issues to his office.
