In a
dramatic operation, the Andersonpet police in KGF arrested a history-sheeter
during his daughter’s wedding ceremony on Tuesday and later booked him for
allegedly obstructing and attempting to assault police personnel on duty.
The
accused, Stanley (68), a resident of Loordhnagar under Andersonpet police

Alanda town in Kalaburagi district until May next year.

said Stanley was involved in at least 12 criminal cases registered at two
police stations in KGF, and was allegedly known for threatening traders in the
Andersonpet area. He and his son Lenin had recently been arrested in an
extortion case and remanded to judicial custody.
Considering
his criminal background, KGF Superintendent of Police Shivamshu Rajput had
issued externment orders against Stanley on 2 May, directing him to stay in
Alanda town until May next year. However, police later received information
that he had violated the externment order and returned to KGF.
Acting on
a tip-off that Stanley was attending his daughter’s wedding at St. Joseph
Church in Susaipalyam, Andersonpet Police Sub-Inspector Manjunath B and his

Police
reportedly found Stanley actively participating in the ceremony. When officers
informed him about the externment violation and pending cases against him,
Stanley and some of his family members allegedly abused the police personnel,
threatened them and attempted to assault them.
Despite the commotion, police managed to secure Stanley’s arrest and brought him to the Andersonpet police station. A fresh case was subsequently registered against him for allegedly obstructing police officials from discharging their duties.
