Stating that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will continue in office as long as he enjoys the confidence of the high command, Home Minister G Parameshwara on Monday said Siddaramaiah will continue in office till the Assembly’s term is over.

Speaking to reporters during his visit to Mysuru, the Home Minister said that there is no confusion regarding the change of leadership in Karnataka.

Siddaramaiah also gave a clarification in the Assembly that all Congress MLAs are eligible to become Chief Minister if they have the high command’s permission.

The home minister also clarified that the by-poll results will not have any impact on the party. “People will support Congress candidates in Davangere South andBagalkote by-polls. The Congress government has a clean image,” he said.

He also expressed his displeasure with vindictive politics, provocative speech, and personal targeting.

On the black marketing of LPG cylinders, he clarified that there is no disruption in the supply of domestic LPG.

“There is no provision for the police to book suo moto cases regarding black marketing of LPG.

However, the police can take action as per the recommendations of food and civil supplies officials. LPG distributors must strictly adhere to government guidelines. Food Department officials have been directed to conduct stock inspection at distribution points. Strict action would be taken against black marketing of LPG.

Essential services like anganwadis, schools, hospitals and government hostels must be prioritised in LPG distribution,” he added.
