Worm infested meals served to students in Karnataka, headmistress suspended

The headmistress
of the Government Higher Primary School in Satyagala village in Kollegal
Chamarajanagar has been suspended over worm infested mid-day meals being served
to the students.
Following
complaints against poor quality mid-day meals being served in the school,
Chamarajanagar Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) constituted a
committee comprising of Kollegal block education officer M Manjul and three
other officials.
The
committee inspected the school, its storage room and also questioned the headmistress,
Hoovamma on the incident.
After
worm -infested rice was found in the storage room during the inspection.
Chamarajanagar DDPI Uday Kumar issued an order suspending Hoovamma.
