Two youths have died after falling critically ill in the Koppal district, allegedly after consuming spirit during a drinking party.

The incident took place in Kukanalli village, where four friends reportedly attended a party four days ago and later consumed spirits. Soon after, all four developed severe health complications.

They were admitted to different hospitals for treatment. One youth, who was being treated at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences(KIMS), died during treatment, while another, admitted to a private hospital, also succumbed despite medical efforts.

The remaining two youths are continuing to receive medical care, and their health condition is said to be under close observation.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, including the source of the spirit consumed.
