Senior theatre personality Mime Ramesh on Saturday said street plays are one of the most effective mediums to spread the ideology of Dr BR Ambedkar.

He said this while inaugurating street plays to promote the ideologies of Ambedkar and his social thoughts. The plays were organized by Rangayana Mysuru as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Bahuroopi National Theatre festival at Chikka gadiyara circle in the City.

Ramesh said that more such street plays should be held in different educational institutions to uphold the need of creating a discrimination free society.

Mysuru City Corporation environmental engineer Mythri expressed her concern on youths and students using social media excessively, leading to decline of studies, distraction, resulting in mental and health issues. She appealed to them to observe adopt the message behind these street plays in their life.

Rangayana Mysuru director Satish Tiptur said this year street plays are being organized in various parts of the city as part of the theatre festival.

Joint director of Kannada and Culture VM Mallikarjunaswamy, assistant director MD Sudarshan and others were present on the occasion.
