Kalaburgi, 20 Dec

A shocking incident in Nandikur village, Kalaburagi district has left the local community reeling after BJP worker Jyoti Patil set herself on fire and died at the premises of fellow party member Mallinath Biradar. The tragedy occurred late at night when Biradar was not at home; his wife and three children opened the door to Patil, who allegedly poured petrol over herself and ignited it immediately.

Following the incident, a case was registered at Farhatabad police station, and Mallinath Biradar has been taken into custody for questioning. The Biradar family has since vacated the house, which remains locked, casting an eerie silence over the site.

Jyoti Patil, a resident of the Brahmapur area of Kalaburagi, was married to Chidanand, who has expressed serious doubts over the suicide theory, stating he suspects foul play.

Police continue to conduct a detailed investigation to determine whether the death was self-inflicted or involved third-party interference, collecting evidence and questioning those connected to the case. No conclusion has yet been reached.
