A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly posting derogatory and provocative content against Karnataka Minister HK Patil, police said.

The accused, identified as Veeranna P Beelagi, is accused of posting offensive remarks targeting the state’s Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister on his Facebook page. Following the posts, a complaint was lodged at the Betageri police station.

A senior police officer described the comments as “loose talk” and said they were objectionable in nature. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against Beelagi under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and arrested him. Further investigation into the matter is under way.
