Actor Sonu Sood has urged passengers to remain calm and avoid targeting airline ground staff after widespread IndiGo flight delays and cancellations caused chaos across airports in India.
The disruptions left thousands of travellers stranded, with several videos circulating on social media showing heated arguments between passengers and airline staff.
In a video posted on X on 6 December 2025, Sood said he understood the “frustration” and “pain” caused by long delays but stressed that ground staff were equally “helpless”.
“Friends, this video is a small message regarding the inconvenience you’ve faced on IndiGo flights over the past two to three days. My own family had to wait for nearly five hours before their flight finally took off. Many flights didn’t take off, many were cancelled, and people missed weddings, meetings and events,” he said.
“What saddened me most was seeing what the ground staff at the airports had to go through while people were shouting at them. They are helpless. They don’t know the schedules ahead and can only pass on the messages they get from above,” he added.
Sood captioned the video: “A delayed flight is frustrating, but remember the faces trying to fix it. Please be nice and humble to the IndiGo staff; they are carrying the weight of cancellations too. Let’s support them.”
The appeal faced criticism from some quarters as “paid PR,” but celebrities including Vir Das supported it, highlighting the need for management accountability.
Meanwhile, on 5 December, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation ordered a high-level, four-member committee to review the circumstances that led to the recent operational disruptions at IndiGo.
