5 of Karnataka family killed in accident in Kurnool
Police said the Swift Dzire driver apparently slept before the 4.45 am head-on collision near Kotekal Curve.

Five people of a family were killed when the car in which they were travelling rammed an SUV in Kurnool district on Saturday morning. The dead were from the Chikkahosahalli village of Bangarapet taluk in Kolar district.
The accident took place at around 4.45 am on Saturday when the driver of the Swift Dzire car apparently dozed off, resulting in a head-on collision with a Fortuner car near Kotekal Curve, coming under Yemmiganur police station limits.
The Dzire car was completely crushed, killing all its occupants instantly. Sources said all five passengers in the Dzire died instantly, while the two in the Fortuner were seriously injured.
They have been admitted to Adoni Hospital.
The deceased are Venkateshappa, 60; his daughter Meenakshi 32; son-in-law Satish, 36;, and grandchildren Rutvik and Bhuvit Goud of Chikka Hosahalli village in Kolar district.
Srinivasalu, the Sub Inspector of Yemmiganur, said the driver of the Dzire had apparently slept.
He said the deceased were travelling to Mantralaya for darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
Police have registered a case and have launched an investigation into the accident.
