Kolar police are using drones to keep tabs on illegal activities. Drones are being deployed in places where the terrain is tough, and police movement is difficult. Two drones are being deployed, and their videos will be monitored at the control room attached to the Superintendent of Police’s office.
Kolar Superintendent of Police B Nikhil said the videos will be monitored by a team headed by an Inspector rank official, and the inputs provided by the drones will be shared with police stations with specific instructions if anything unusual is noticed.
Nikhil said drones are already being used at some places under the Kolar Rural and Vemagal police stations. As crime is increasing in the industrial areas near Vemagal and Narasapur, attempts are being made by the police to reduce crime and to create awareness among the public on how to tackle crime.
He said drones will be used more in the industrial areas, and the input provided by them will come in handy for the police during times of group clashes or during huge processions.
