A 19-year-old youth was hacked to death early on Wednesday at Shanti Nagar in Mysuru. Sayyed Sofian was murdered by his friends. The crime was captured on CCTV. The incident occurred when the youth arrived to have tea with friends. Sayyed was a resident of Gowsiyanagar in Narasimharaja.


Police said that two friends of Sayyed Sofian hacked him to death after a fight.


Sayyed’s mother Shaheen Taj said her son was murdered by his friends who had consumed alcohol and drugs. She asked the police to conduct a detailed probe as there was rampant sale of drugs in her area.


The suspected killers have fled and have switched off their phones. Police have launched a manhunt for them.
