As speculation around Chief Minister change in Karnataka
refuses to die down, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday said that
the party High Command will decide on the isuse, and he has nothing to say now.
“Whatever it is, the High Command will do it. There is no
need for you (media) to worry more about it," Kharge told reporters
outside his residence in the City.
The AICC Chief stated this a day after his meeting with
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the City. He was also scheduled to meet Deputy
Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Sunday.
The power tussle within the ruling party has intensified
after the Congress government reached the halfway mark of its five-year term on
20 November.
Both Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah have said they would abide
by the High Command’s decision.
The CM's meeting with the AICC Chief came after some MLAs
supporting Shivakumar travelled to New Delhi to meet Kharge.
On Sunday, Ministers HC Mahadevappa and K Venkatesh, considered close to Siddaramaiah, met Kharge at his residence. Mahadevappa said the meeting discussed organising the party to prepare it for the upcoming local body polls. He also asserted that Siddaramaiah would complete his full tenure as the Chief Minister.
