Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has asserted that a Cabinet reshuffle is imminent, but reiterated there will be no change in leadership within the State. Speculation about a potential reshuffle intensified following Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's recent meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
While there were discussions circulating about the reshuffle, Siddaramaiah clarified that his talks in Delhi were primarily focused on the Bihar election results, not on the Cabinet. However, sources within the Congress party suggested that discussions regarding the reshuffle had indeed taken place.
Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara remarked, "It is said that the high command has given permission for a reshuffle. The media is saying it, and this subject is coming out in the open. Normally, leadership changes do not happen when a Cabinet reshuffle takes place." He noted that several individuals have expressed interest in ministerial positions and concluded that the final decision rests with both the Chief Minister and the Congress high command.
Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi echoed Parameshwara’s sentiments, stating, "Only the Chief Minister knows what discussion took place with the high command. The decision on the Cabinet reshuffle is left to him and the party top brass."
Moreover, DK Suresh, former MP and brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, added that the matter is ultimately in the hands of the CM and the party leadership, urging all to wait for official announcements.
