Two people from Kerala die in head on collision near Gundlupet

Two passengers from Kerala were killed on the spot and three others injured when their car collided head-on with a tipper truck near Gundlupet in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar early Saturday.

 

The accident occurred on the national highway near Madapatna Gate in Gundlupet taluk. Police identified the deceased as Basheer Karimchori, 53, and Naseema Basheer, 42.

 

The injured — Mohammed Shafi, 32; Jaseera, 28; and Mohammed Hanan, 3 — are residents of Kalpetta, Kerala. The car was travelling from Mysuru towards Kerala when it rammed into the oncoming tipper.

 

The tipper driver fled after the crash. Begur Police seized both vehicles, provided first aid to the injured at Begur PHC, and shifted them to a private hospital. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
