Bidar/Bengaluru, 14 Oct
In two significant operations, Karnataka police
have seized illegal narcotics totalling over Rs 2.4 crore, resulting in
multiple arrests. In Bidar, authorities confiscated 24.920 kilograms of ganja
valued at Rs 24.92 lakh from a suspect caught selling the drug outside the KEB
Function Hall on the Bidar–Kamthana Road.
Following a tip-off, officers from
Gandhigunj Police Station conducted a raid, apprehending the accused, who has
since been remanded to judicial custody under the NDPS Act.
In a separate incident in Bengaluru, two
foreign nationals—one male and one female—were arrested for allegedly peddling
MDMA crystals and cocaine estimated at Rs 2.15 crore. Police seized 490 grams
of MDMA and 43 grams of cocaine during a raid in Mahalakshmi Layout, initiated
after receiving intelligence on 8 October.
During questioning, one accused disclosed that he was selling drugs to "earn more money" and implicated two other individuals in the operation. While one suspect has been arrested, efforts are underway to locate the second, who remains at large. Both detained individuals have been remanded to judicial custody.
