Mysuru district gears up for Backward Classes Survey from 22 Sept to 7 Oct, with officials using a dedicated app to collect caste, income, education, and economic details.

The Mysuru district is gearing up for the Backward Classes Survey, scheduled from 22 September to 7 October.


During a meeting with department officials held at Zilla Panchayat in Mysuru, Deputy Commissioner G Lakshmikanth Reddy on Thursday instructed the officials to thoroughly prepare for the survey.


The survey questionnaire contains six questions including details of caste, skills, income, educational background, sub caste, religion, economic status, he said, noting that an app has been developed to help officials.


He said the first phase of the survey – mapping residence – has been completed. 

A special app has been developed by the e-governance and Energy Departments, in collaboration with the commission’s advisory team and Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services (EDCS), to support the survey. 


The DC said that people can call the helpline number of State Backward Classes Commission for queries- 8050770007.
