Kalaburagi, 8 Aug

A case has been registered at Narona Police Station in Aland taluk against Siddalinga Swamiji, pontiff of Andola Karuneshwar Mutt and National Honorary President of Sri Rama Sene, for allegedly spreading misinformation regarding an unauthorised grave construction at Karnataka Central University in Kadaganchi.

The issue stems from a claim made by Siddalinga Swamiji that members of the Muslim community were allegedly constructing graves illegally inside the Karnataka Central University premises in Kadaganchi, without any official permission.

Swami claimed that a dargah was being built about 10 to 15ft and namaz was being performed there. He further alleged that in the coming days, a shed would be erected, leading to the construction of a mosque in that spot.

He demanded that the district administration immediately demolish the dargah, warning that if not done, Sri Rama Sene activists themselves would demolish the alleged unauthorized grave on 10 August

However, university staff members said the structure in question is a centuries-old dargah/grave, and no new construction, dargah, or grave was being built at the site.

The FIR states that Siddalinga Swami made provocative statements with the intent to disturb peace and communal harmony and to create discord between two religious communities.
