The Opposition will corner the Congress government for its "misrule", botched handling of the RCB victory celebrations leading to a stampede, lack of funds for development and many other issues in the Assembly, Leader of Opposition R Ashoka said on Tuesday.

The nine-day monsoon session of the Assembly will begin on 11 August.

The BJP leader said an NDA meeting consisting of senior BJP and JD(S) leaders and legislators will be held a day before to finalise the strategy.

"We held a meeting today (Tuesday) to discuss the plan of action during the Assembly’s monsoon session. Another NDA meeting will be held on 10 August at 5pm. On that day, we will discuss the issues to be raised during the session, such as the Congress government's maladministration, the State's coffers being empty, its inability to pay salaries to State government employees and the transport employees going on a strike," Ashoka said.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with senior BJP legislators, he pointed out that almost all Congress legislators are openly speaking to the media about the lack of development projects. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is not releasing money for developmental works, as the government has become "bankrupt", he said.
