Police on Tuesday said one more person has been arrested for the murder of a 32-year-old man in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to 11.


The latest accused arrested for the murder of Abdul Rahiman is Sahith alias Shahith, 24, a resident of Ammunje village. He was nabbed late Monday night, police said.


Rahiman and his 29-year-old co-worker, Kalandar Shafi, were unloading gravel in the Erakodi area of Kuryal village on 27 May when two motorcycle-borne men allegedly attacked them with a sword, police said. Rahiman died on the spot, while Shafi sustained serious injuries and survived.


The arrested suspect has been remanded to police custody, even as the motive is yet to be ascertained.
