NIA sleuths raided
Satish Gowda, a resident of Bhatrahalli village near Kolar, for allegedly
providing sim cards to extremists. Gowda has reportedly been under the NIA
radar for the past three years.
The NIA sleuths
arrived at his house at around 8.30pm on Tuesday during which time he
reportedly fled the scene. The NIA then issued a notice to Gowda and his wife,
Hema, asking them to appear before the authorities in City on Wednesday.
Gowda, who hailed
from Vanarasi, another village in Kolar, had worked with Airtel for several
years. Following his marriage, he stopped working for Airtel and was instead
working at a sim distributor shop near Koramangala.
Hema said the NIA
authorities had previously served him a notice during 2023, stating that there
were some discrepancies over allocating sim cards to customers.
