Raichur, 6 July

A youth sustained serious burn injuries after accidentally falling into a fire pit (the traditional Alayi Kuni ritual) during Muharram celebrations in Yeragunti village of Lingasugur taluk, Raichur district on Saturday night. While attempting to cross over the fire pit, Hanumanth Patil’s, 33, foot got caught in a wooden log, causing him to fall into the flames. He was immediately rushed to the government hospital in Lingasugur for initial treatment. Due to the severity of the burn injuries, he was then shifted to the Raichur RIMS Hospital for advanced medical care.  Dr. Surendra Babu, District Health and Family Welfare Officer (DHO) told SALAR NEWS, “Hanumanth has sustained 90 per cent burns and is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS hospital in Raichur".
