Deputy Chief
minister DK Shivakumar on Friday said “prayers never go unanswered”, as he
visited Chamundi Hills and offered prayers at Sri Chamundeshwari temple.
He visited the
temple with his wife Usha, daughter Ishwaraya on account of the auspicious
Ashada Friday celebrations held atop the hills and had darshan of Goddess
Chamundeshwari.
Asked if he has
given up his dream to become the CM, he said, "Efforts may fail, but not
prayers. I have prayed to the Goddess and wished for whatever I want."
“As a sincere
party worker. I am following directions of my party high command leader
Mallikarjuna Kharge. I urge others to take the party forward,” he added.
There has been
speculation for some time now about a possible change in the chief minister
later this year, citing a power-sharing agreement between Chief Minister
Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar.
Shivakumar
has earlier said he had “no option” but to stand by SIddaramaiah, who asserted
that he would complete his full five-year tenure.
