MYSURU, 29 JUNE
In light of the
increasing influx of devotees during the auspicious Ashada month, District
In-Charge Minister Dr HC Mahadevappa conducted an inspection of facilities for
devotees and tourists atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru on Sunday, accompanied by
district administration officials.
During the visit,
the minister evaluated crowd management plans, transportation provisions,
security measures, and other key aspects of the ongoing Ashada Shukravara
preparations. To enhance the darshan experience, an additional ticket counter
will be opened near the Nandi Statue on Ashada Fridays and the following
Saturdays and Sundays, aimed at reducing wait times for pilgrims.
Dr Mahadevappa
emphasised the necessity of effective inter-departmental coordination and
robust security. He expressed his contentment with the arrangements and assured
the public of a safe darshan experience of Goddess Chamundeshwari. The minister
engaged with devotees in the free darshan queue, inquiring about their transit
experiences.
City Police
Commissioner Seema Latkar reported that crowd management and traffic flow were
under control, with designated parking locations and restrictions on private
vehicles to prevent congestion. Meanwhile, local traders requested the minister
to allow shop openings on days other than Ashada Friday to support their
livelihoods, a plea he promised to consider.
