Mysuru’s Rangayana to host theatre festival
Rangayana will host a theatre festival from 29 June to 10 August in Mysuru to honour senior theatre activist CG Krishnaswamy (CGK), featuring weekend performances by diverse troupes.

MYSURU, 26 JUNE
To commemorate
senior theatre activist CG Krishnaswamy, also popular as CGK in theatre
circles, Mysuru-based theatre repertory Rangayana will host a theatre festival
from 29 June till 10 August at its premises, said the institution’s director
Satish Tiptur on Thursday.
During the
festival, seven plays will be staged every weekend by various theatre troupes.
The festival will
be inaugurated by noted theatre personality H Janardhan on 29 June at 6pm. On that day, Nepathya Theatre will stage
Kuvempu’s ‘Smashana Kurukshetra’.
On 6 July, GPIER
Troupe will stage ‘Ward Number 6’. Mysuru Theatre will perform on 13 July a
street play on ‘Ahalya’.
Rangavalli
Theatre will stage ‘Parameshi Prema Prasangha’ on 20 July, while Abhiyanthararu
Theatre will perform ‘Kalasutra’ on 27 July.
On 2 August,
Karnataka Sangha Theatre will a play on ‘Nitya Sachiva’. On the final day, 10
August, Kerala-based Little Earth School of Theatre will stage ‘Kuhu’.
