MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Thursday said he is vying for
a ministerial post in the State Congress government.
Speaking to reporters, Yathindra said that his father Chief
Minister Siddaramaiah has been targeted by opposition parties from the time of
assuming the charge of the State’s chief minister for a second term. Attempts were made to “fix” his father and
tarnish his image by using allegations of Maharshi Valmiki Development
Corporation scandal, MUDA scam and several other cases.
Opposition leaders are also targeting him, said Yathindra,
adding that such strategies are common in politics.
“The CM will complete his five-year term. I will not demand
any post while he is in power in the State, unless he gives me asks me to,” he
said.
Yathindra Siddaramaiah also hit back at former MP Pratap Simha’s silence about his demands to clarify which party Simha belonged at present.
