7 arrested in B’luru for killing a 17-year-old girl
Authorities report that the victim, originally from Bihar, had moved to Bengaluru just days earlier on 18 May after being lured into a relationship by Ashiq Kumar, a married factory worker.

Seven individuals have been arrested and a
minor boy from Bihar apprehended in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old
girl whose body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase on the outskirts of
Bengaluru. The gruesome discovery was made near the railway tracks in
Chandapura on 21 May.
Authorities report that the victim,
originally from Bihar, had moved to Bengaluru just days earlier on 18 May after
being lured into a relationship by Ashiq Kumar, a married factory worker with
two children. During interrogation, the accused claimed that a heated argument
escalated into violence, resulting in the girl’s death by strangulation at a
relative's residence in Bommanahalli on the evening of 20 May.
After the murder, Kumar, along with
accomplices, concealed the body in a suitcase and transported it in the car of
one of the suspects, Mukesh, before abandoning it near the Chandapura railway
bridge. Following the incident, the group fled to Bihar but were later located
and arrested by police.
A murder case has been registered, and while the investigation continues, authorities are exploring the precise motive behind this tragic incident. The victim's father is a daily wage labourer with two wives and seven daughters, and the girl was the second daughter of his first wife.
