Mysuru, 19 May
Accusing the State government of
corruption, former minister and BJP MLC AH Vishwanath on Monday claimed that Chief
Minister Siddaramaiah postponed announcement of Greater Mysuru formation as he
did not get money. Vishwanath indicated a strong political-real estate nexus.
Speaking to press, he said the announcement
has been deliberately put on hold to increase the kickback.
“Once the issue of kickback between State
congress government and real estate lobby settles, the State government will
soon constitute Greater Mysuru", he accused.
With the Congress completing two years in
office, he question what Siddaramaiah’s achievements were.
“Siddaramaiah did nothing to his community
(Kuruba). He did nothing for the welfare of backward classes who claim to be
its champion after D Devaraj Urs,” Vishwanath charged. “The only contributions
is heli-hopping. He tours across the State, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, doing
nothing for development.”
The State government has also initiated
measures to upgrade Mysuru City Corporation to the Greater Mysuru City
Corporation in the lines of constituting Greater Bengaluru Authority
(GBA).
Vishwanath said that his party will also hold a convention to highlight the failures of the State Congress and its corruption in Mysuru.
