Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said
the State government wasn’t just celebrating two years in office but was paying
back to the people by distributing more than a lakh land records to the people.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting
preparations for the event aimed at celebrating the second anniversary of the State
government the KPCC President said, “Our government is rewriting history by
doing what could not be achieved in 100 years. The Bhu Guarantee scheme of the
Revenue department is historic. Everyone wants clear documents for the land
they are living on and this scheme will ensure that.”
“The BJP had organised a similar event in Kalaburgi spending Rs 20 crores but dropped the idea as it did not know how to execute it,” he said. “The government will acquire lands up to 4,000 square feet built, create ownership documents and hand over the property to the end users with a sale deed. The property will be given to the people free of cost. Currently, documents for 1,11,111 properties are ready. Sale of such properties is prohibited for a period of 15 years.”
