Dacoity Case: Police Crack the Case; Three Arrested

With the arrest of three criminals, two hailing from
Maharashtra, Bidar police on Friday solved a case of robbery in Old Adarsh
Colony of the city. The trio had looted gold and cash worth approximately Rs
15.55 lakh.
On 26 April, around dawn, five masked robbers broke into the
house of Jyothilatha Santosh Kumar, a superintendent at the DC office. They
threatened Jyothilatha, her mother and son with knives and an air gun before
looting the valuables.
The criminals also locked the family in the bathroom and
warned them not to inform the police before leaving. A case was registered at
the Gandhi Ganj Police Station.
Police identified the accused as Kartar Singh from Parali in
Beed district of Maharashtra, his brother and Bidar resident Jagjeet Singh and
Akshay from Pune. Police have also taken into custody a person who helped the
trio sell the stolen gold.
Acting on a tip-off, a special investigation team comprising
officers from Gandhi Ganj and Bidar Rural Police stations tracked the
criminals.
During the operation, Kartar Singh was shot in the right leg by the police, while Head Constable Maqsood was stabbed in his shoulder by one of the accused. Both of them have been admitted to BRIMS Hospital for treatment.
