Bengaluru 27 April
A cab driver was found with his throat slit and his head battered near
Arekattedoddi in Sathanur on the outskirts of the city.
The Sathanur police initially inspected the scene on Saturday
but later transferred the case to the Soladevanahalli police.
The victim is Chandrashekar, a 39-year-old cab driver from Chikkabyalakere
in Bengaluru.
Investigations suggest that unidentified assailants abducted
Chandrashekar from the City in a vehicle and took him to a secluded area near a
private school in Kabbalu. There, they slit his throat with a knife and smashed
his head with a stone before fleeing.
A local resident first spotted the body and promptly alerted
the police on Saturday.
Probe revealed that the murder is linked to a kidnapping case filed a few days prior with the Soladevanahalli police. Investigators are exploring whether the killing resulted from personal animosity, a financial disagreement or issues involving a woman. Efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits.
