BJP has hit back at Congress leader M Lakshman over his remarks on intelligence failures and security lapses following the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. State BJP spokesperson MG Mahesh on Saturday announced that the party will pursue sedition charges against Lakshman for making “baseless and inflammatory” comments while the country is in mourning.

Addressing a press conference in Mysuru, Mahesh criticised Lakshman for politicising the tragedy and accused him of lacking the moral standing to question the Union government. 

Mahesh also claimed the number of officials in the Pakistani High Commission has been cut from 55 to 30, and the Wagah-Attari border is being closed as part of India's retaliatory measures.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar also criticised Congress, stating the party has no moral ground to comment on security failures, given its past record. He urged citizens to unite in the fight against terrorism.
