BENGALURU, 18 APRIL
Police investigations into the tragic deaths of a migrant
couple, whose bodies were discovered at a construction site in Dollar's Colony,
indicate a possible suicide following a domestic dispute.
The deceased, Mehboob, aged 45, and his 35-year-old wife
Parveen, originally hailing from Yadgir district, had been employed as
construction labourers and residing at the under-construction site in
Sanjaynagar for the past year. Authorities reported that a serious quarrel
erupted between the couple three days prior over a personal matter.
In a moment of despair, Mehboob is believed to have ingested
poison. Upon realising her husband's critical condition, Parveen reportedly
took her own life by hanging herself within the same building.
The couple’s absence went unnoticed until Thursday morning,
when a foul odour prompted local residents to alert the Sanjaynagar Police.
Officers promptly arrived at the scene, where they discovered both bodies.
Forensic experts and fingerprint specialists from the
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have since examined the site, collecting
toxic substances and personal items for further analysis. Investigators are now
awaiting the post-mortem reports to conclusively determine the circumstances
surrounding the case.
Tragically, the couple leaves behind two young children, currently studying in Yadgir. Police have registered a case and are pending final forensic confirmation.
