Cinema brings London writer, K’taka tour guide together

A shared love for cinema turned into a love story for a London scriptwriter and a tourist guide from Gangavathi. Charlotte Mary Finklaire, who came from London two years ago, fell in love with Murali, a tour guide and director by passion.
Their mutual love for cinema soon blossomed into a deep friendship, eventually turning into love.

When Charlottie came to Karnataka two years ago, Murali was trying his hand at directing films. They first met during the shooting of a short film, ‘I Love My Country’, which Murali was producing.

Murali, who also runs a guest house, has always harboured dreams of a career in filmmaking.

The couple recently tied the knot in the presence of Murali’s beloved ones at the sub registrar’s office in Gangavathi on Friday.

The couple said there will be a traditional reception in London on 9 May. On that special day, they plan to release a short film titled ‘India Weds London’, which is based on their own love story.

Charlottie and Murali have already set up a production house named Lottie Finklaire Entertainment. Last year, the duo made a short film titled ‘Dream Space’, which has won three awardsPresently, Charlottie is writing the story in English for a Telugu film ‘Singareni Jung Siren’ while Murali is translating it into Telugu. The couple has set a goal of coming up with a film under their own banner.
