In a departure from the usual life of a woman, a 26-year-old
woman raised in the home of a wealthy businessman in Yadgiri, has decided to
renounce all luxuries and become a monk.

marriage, is a resident of Jain Colony in Yadgir city and the daughter of
Narendra Gandhi and Sangeeta Gandhi. She has two younger siblings – a boy and a
girl.
According to Jain tradition, once someone becomes a monk,
they must follow an extremely austere path. To mark this life-changing
decision, a grand procession was held in her honour in the city.
Nikita said, "I’m happy to go and live in the Gurukul. I don’t feel even a little bit of sadness about leaving everything behind. In fact, I feel immense joy…I realised seven years ago that this worldly life is not for me. So I decided to embrace monkhood.”
