BENGALURU, 21 MARCH
Former
Minister and MLA of Aurad (B), Prabhu B Chavan, conducted a thorough inspection
of sanitation and infrastructure in all 20 wards of Aurad (B) on 21 March. His
tour revealed concerning unhygienic conditions, particularly in Ward 6, where
blocked drains prompted him to reprimand municipal officers.
Chavan
emphasised the urgent need for improved sanitation, insisting that each ward
should have two dedicated sanitation workers and proper garbage collection
vehicles. He addressed residents' complaints about delays in releasing housing
funds, directly contacting officials to resolve the matter within five days.
During his
visit, he acknowledged the severe water shortages in various wards and
initiated an Rs 84 crore project to secure water supply from the Karanja
Reservoir, aiming to eliminate future shortages.
Chavan's
unannounced visits to the veterinary hospital highlighted staffing issues and
mismanagement, prompting immediate calls for resolution. He also inspected the
public hospital, urging doctors to ensure quality care for patients.
In a positive note, he inaugurated development projects worth Rs. 1.23 crore, enhancing the community’s infrastructure with new roads, streetlights, and drainage systems.
