The Karnataka State Information Commissioner has fined CDPO Gautam Shinde ₹25,000 for failing to provide documents in response to an RTI application. Revansiddayya, the son of deceased Anganwadi worker Pushpavati, sought compensation-related documents after his siblings received the funds. Suspecting forgery and misappropriation, Revansiddayya, who was abroad at the time, sought legal help from RTI activist and advocate CP Seegedar. Despite filing a police complaint in September 2022 and applying for the documents, CDPO Shinde claimed they were sent to higher authorities. Dissatisfied with this, Revansiddayya appealed to the Kalaburagi bench of the State Information Commission, which imposed the fine. The order was issued by State Information Commissioner Ravindra Gurunath Dakappa.
