Mysuru Lok Adalat to resolve over 21,000 pending cases

MYSURU, 6 MARCH

Mysuru's Lok Adalat, scheduled for 8 March, aims to address 21,646 cases from a total of 119,646 pending in the district and taluk courts. District Principal Sessions Court Judge Usharani, chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority, announced the initiative during a press conference. The national Lok Adalat, organised by the National and State Legal Services Authorities, targets civil disputes (60,391 cases) and criminal disputes (59,255 cases) within the region.

Among the cases set for resolution are 1,478 motor vehicle accident cases, 1,360 criminal cases, 5,011 cheque bounce cases, and 3,861 alternative dispute resolution cases. Judge Usharani encouraged all litigants to participate and noted that no court fees would be charged, with no provision for appeal once a decree is issued.
