  • Farmers say the power line will affect their agricultural work

MYSURU, 6 MARCH

Several farmers under the banner of Chamundeshwari–Hunsur Assembly Segment Hitharakshana Samithi on Thursday opposed a drone survey being conducted by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) over in their land to install a 400KV power line from Kadakola to Basthipura.

Karnataka Kavalu Pade  President  Mohan Kumar Gowda said the power line will affect their agricultural work, as they cannot grow any crops under the line. As most of the farmers have one or two acres of land, it would affect their livelihood, he said.

Gowda demanded the KPTCL to provide compensation to the farmers according to the present market value to their land and suitable job for a family member.  He also criticised the government for its anti farmer decision.
