Youth sentenced to 20 years for raping minor girl

BENGALURU, 6 MARCH

A Fast-track Special Court (FTSC) has awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a Rs 10,000 fine to a youth for repeatedly raping a minor girl in the city. The court also ordered him to pay a compensation Rs 5 lakh to the victim.

Jeeva, 20, a resident of Bhakshi Garden in Cottonpet, was arrested after a complaint was filed on 5 May, 2024, by a man alleging that he has raped his minor daughter on multiple occasions by luring her into a shed, leading to her becoming pregnant.

 

Police investigated the charge and booked Jeeva under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
