Amid growing discussions about a possible change of chief minister, many religious leaders have said Shivakumar would ascent to the position.

Nonnavinakere Ajjayya Swamy on Wednesday said at the Vishwaradhya Math in Abbetumakur, "Everyone wishes that DK Shivakumar becomes the chief minister. With the collective will of the people and the blessings of this Math, he will surely attain the position. I cannot predict the exact day. I have also visited the sacred seat of Vishwaradhya in Abbetumakur. May DK Shivakumar receive the blessings of the deity," said Ajjayya Swamy.

"Soon, DK Shivakumar shall be a manifested king. He will become the chief minister according to the wishes of the people," he said.

Bhairavi Amma, another revered figure, said in Hubballi, "DK Shivakumar will become the chief minister. It could even happen tomorrow. I guarantee that he will assume the position during this term. Three years ago, I told him about someone else eating away the wealth he worked hard for, and today, he understands its meaning."
