Two students were injured when a crude explosive
detonated at Anjaneya Hill in Kambadahalli village, Nagamangala taluk, on
Sunday. The injured, 15-year-old Harayant Patil and Partha, are pupils at Jain Basadi
School, where they participated in a cleanliness drive at the local tourist
site, approximately one kilometre from their school.
The incident occurred as the students were handling a pile of rubbish when the device exploded. One student suffered injuries to his hand, while the other sustained facial injuries; fortunately, both are now reported to be out of danger. They were promptly taken to Adichunchanagiri Hospital. Local police suspect the explosive was left near the garbage by miscreants involved in poaching wild boar and are investigating the case further following an inspection of the site.
