Pro-Kannada activists urge retention of CESCK in Mysuru
MP Yaduveer pledged to bring the matter to the attention of Union Higher Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in a bid to prevent the Centre’s relocation to Bengaluru.

On Sunday, pro-Kannada activists from the Kannada Kriya
Samiti and the Classical Kannada Bhasha Horata Samiti convened with
Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar to advocate for the
retention of the Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada (CESCK)
in Mysuru.
During the meeting at Wadiyar’s office in the CADA
premises, the activists emphasised the need for the Centre to be established on
4 acres and 2 guntas of land allocated by the government at Manasagangotri, the
post-graduate campus of the University of Mysore. In response, MP Yaduveer
pledged to bring the matter to the attention of Union Higher Education Minister
Dharmendra Pradhan, in a bid to prevent the Centre’s relocation to Bengaluru.
The matter surrounding the CESCK has resurfaced, raising concerns about its potential move to the state capital. Among those in attendance were activists SR Sudarshan, Horeyala Doreswamy, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Arvind Sharma, Mugur Nanjundaswamy, Siddaraju Sosale, and Prakash.
