Kalaburagi, 22 FEB
Seventeen students from the Government Higher Primary
School in Malaghana village were hospitalised on Saturday after experiencing
symptoms of stomach pain, dizziness, and fatigue. This comes a day after five
other students reported similar symptoms and were admitted to Kalagi Government
Hospital.
Health officials, including Chittapur BEO Shashidhar
Biradar, mid-day meal officer Prakash Nayakodi, and other local authorities,
visited the school and hospital to monitor the situation. Doctors from Korwar
Primary Health Center conducted checkups on all students at the school. In response
to the health scare, authorities replaced the usual mid-day meal with biscuits
and ORS solutions.
The students are receiving medical care at Kalagi
Hospital, and their health is under close observation. Even children who were
absent on Friday have shown symptoms, prompting anxious parents to stay by
their side at the hospital.
The school's headmaster, Gurudevappa Ramashetti, has
remained at the hospital with the students since Friday night, expressing deep
concern over the incident.
Authorities are working to identify the source of the health issue and ensure the safety of the students.
