Yoga guru drowns in Cauvery river at Kollegal

A yoga guru tragically
drowned in the Cauvery river near Dasanapura in Kollegal taluk on Sunday. The
deceased has been identified as Nagaraju, a 62-year-old priest from the
Lakshminarayan temple in Kollegal town.
According to
local police, Nagaraju had gone to the river to perform yoga asanas and take a
holy dip alongside his friends. After enjoying some time swimming, he was later
found floating in the water when his companions noticed he was missing.
Emergency services were alerted, and his body was recovered with the assistance
of his friends. It was subsequently taken to the Kollegal sub-general hospital
for a postmortem examination.
Kollegal rural police have lodged a case and initiated an investigation into the incident, pending the postmortem report to determine the cause of death.
