Seven lifers released early for good conduct at Kalaburagi prison

The inmates had completed 14 years of their sentences for various criminal offences.

KALABURAGI, 16 FEB

Seven prisoners serving life sentences at Kalaburagi Central Prison were released early on Saturday following a government directive acknowledging their good conduct. The inmates had completed 14 years of their sentences for various criminal offences.

Among those released were Shivappa from Marakandanhalli village in Manvi Taluk, Raichur district; Manikya from Shankargaon, Solapur district; Shivaraj and Anand Uppar from Bandempalli village in Sedam Taluk; Anjilappa from Mudhol village, Sedam; Anand from Kon Malkhed in Bhalki Taluk; and Sangappa from Kadehalli village in Chittapur Taluk.

During the release ceremony, Kalaburagi Central Prison Superintendent Dr Anita R and other prison officials presented the freed prisoners with certificates and offered their best wishes for their new beginnings.
