BELAGAVI, 23 DEC

Lingayat Panchamasali Seer Basavajaya Mrityunjaya Swamiji said he will continue creating awareness about the need for 2A reservation for the community.

He said it to further strengthen the struggle for Panchamasali reservation rights and to create awareness against the govt's oppressive policy, the Panchamasali Pratigna Kranti Abhiyan will be launched, which will visit every village in the state. This campaign will start from Kudalsangama on 14 January.

Speaking at Kannada Sahitya Bhavan on Monday, Swamiji stated that awareness will be created under the policy of dialogue, negotiation, and conflict (Sanvada, Sandhana, Sangharsha). Meetings will also be held in the taluks, and suggestions from the people will be codified.

People from all corners of the state came to the Panchamasali reservation struggle held in Belagavi on 10 December. Several people were injured in the lathi charge carried out by the police. I have also given courage by providing Basava Rakshe Patra. Our struggle will start with the slogan, "You have shed blood, let's get reservation," he said.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that giving reservation is unconstitutional. However, Swamiji lashed out, saying that his statement itself is unconstitutional.

We requested the police officers who lathi-charged to be suspended. However, he complained that they did an incitement by giving a reward of Rs 10,000 and said that it has been proven that the government does not care much about the Panchamasali community. – Salar News
