National
Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against two terrorists in
Al-Hind ISIS module case in Karnataka. The accused, Abdul Matheen Taha and
Mussavir Hussain Shazib, both residents of Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district,
were involved in a terror conspiracy involving targeted killings and other
jihadi activities. With this filing, the total number of accused charged in the
case has risen to 18.
The charge sheet,
filed as the second supplementary document in the case (RC-04/2020/NIA/DLI),
includes sections of Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention)
Act.
The duo had been
absconding until their arrest on 12 April, 2024. NIA investigations reveal that Taha was
self-radicalised and subsequently radicalised Shazib and others. In 2018, Taha
was introduced to an online handler known as Bhai, or Laptop Bhai, who later
became linked with Mehaboob Pasha.
Pasha, based in
Gurupanapallaya, Bengaluru, had formed Al-Hind Trust with his family members.
The trust was instrumental in promoting ISIS activities in India, with Pasha
also passing on a handler link to Khaja Mohideen, who joined Al-Hind Trust to
further ISIS’ agenda. –Salar News
