The announcement was made during sub-plan/council meetings held in the City on Friday. “For 2024-25, Rs 39,121.46 crore has been allocated in the budget for 34 departments under Scheduled Castes Sub Plan and Tribal Sub Plan schemes. This year's allocation is Rs 3,900 crore more than the previous year,” he said.

Additionally, a hi-tech library will be established in the hostel for SC/ST students in New Delhi. The Chief Minister said there is a need for Social Welfare Department and corporations to utilise the allocated funds efficiently and warned of action against negligence.

The Chief Minister said more number of Morarji Desai Residential Schools should be started in Hubballi and 75 per cent of seats should be reserved for local students and 25 per cent for students from other areas.
